Re: 3 Gang 2 Way 10 Amp light Switch

Is this a direct replacement for an existing one?
if so you can treat each switch as an individual like this -
IMPORTANT - TURN OFF THE POWER AT THE DISTRIBUTION BOARD
Write down or mark with small labels the current positions of the wires on your old switch so you can replace them if you get it wrong.
Each switch will be in a triangular configuration at the back, having one terminal marked com and two at the other end marked L1 & L2. You must go by this as just using wire positions will not work, some switch manufacturers put their switches the "wrong way up" or alternate their positions to fit them in.
Transfer the wires from your old switch to the new one using the labeling and com, L1 & L2 positions you noted earlier.
    Never work live
    Hope this helps you.

Re: 3 Gang 2 Way 10 Amp light Switch

The switches shown are of the 'change-over' type you describe. These have three terminals, a common terminal and one for each of the switch positions L1 & L2.
The circuit is shown below, the live feed is fed through both switches to the light and the switches are cross connected so that when a switch is operated, the state of the light is changed. As before, this is the diagram for one two way switch set up. Just repeat for the other two.

do you have other switches controlling the lights?
where are the cables that need the electric going too?

Re: 3 Gang 2 Way 10 Amp light Switch

    1. prepare 2 short pieces of wire to bridge the 3 terminals marked "com" (one on each switch)
    2. connect the live wire to one of these com connections. (this will supply power to all 3 switches)
    3. connect the three live wires that go to the lamps to the L1 connection on EACH switch. (one wire per switch)
    4. Join all the neutrals together in a single " Chockblock " connector.
    REMEMBER POWER OFF WHILE WIRING

Re: 3 Gang 2 Way 10 Amp light Switch

Wire the switches as advised in my last post, your reading of it was correct.
Then get a single piece of " chockblock " type connector and join ALL the neutrals together.
    That should be it.

Re: 3 Gang 2 Way 10 Amp light Switch

One live to the lamps in one L1 in EACH switch.
Join ALL neutrals together in a seperate chockblock.
Do the bridging bit first & include your live supply wire in with the bridge on the coms.
Ive edited the earlier instructions to make it more suitable to what you are doing.

A chockblock is a terminal connector strip which is dark brown and large enough to take 3 wires

This is a Chockblock or terminal connector strip.
Available at all electrical outlets. Very cheap.
You will only need one terminal off the end of a strip which you just cut off.
Put all the neutral wires in one of these to join them ALL.
