The question I have here is can this box do things similar to the dbox? (mainly to do with viewing encryped channels)

will the new dreambox 600c be HD ready? or anyother dreambox?
The cable box on tw seems to be the sc at 4200dvb , these are avaliable on ebay states
Hidden Content ,
not too sure of the engineering and regional dif,
i seen on ebay a german cable box, capable of delivering HDTV and SDTV with hdmi output, it also has the same orginal software, benenova, it think thats wat its called, as the Dboxes had before they were hacked and linux put on them. Just a dream at the mo, but do you think these will eventually end up being hacked and cracked.... would be brill if it could,,
wat do you experts think??????
so if you connect the dbox through a dvd player via scart to a lcd hd tv is it a better picture or is it better to connect it direct from dbox to the lcd hd tv
as i have notice the picture between crt and lcd the crt is much clearer while the lcd hd tv has small shadowing and pixels on the screen
sorry im just learning
do a search for the dm-8000 thats the kiddie Hidden Content
i just got the 7025 and love it Hidden Content

Bump... Hidden Content
None of them, its better to buy a good scart to s-video cable. Change the setting in dbox to s-video out and veiw direct though s-video into tv.
I blow my picture up very large and this is very far the best picture. Or get a scart 2 s-video conveter.
Best leads if you can manage in your budget are QED buy a long way and i have tested a few even more expensive ones.
Hidden Content just had a quick look this is S-S but you want this sort as a guide.

I can confirm that it's do-able streaming the HD signal off the box, however even with extra RAM and 99 ringbuffers, the recording stalls.
I might try this on my 10/100Mb/s dreambox and see what happens...
is it possible to watch hd channels through the dbox ?
Have you read any of this thread?
No...the dbox cannot decode HD channels. You just get a blank screen.
I'm sure I saw a german tutorial somewhere on how to swap the onboard network chip for a 10/100mb one. I can't recall if they had done it or where just theorising how it could be done. Would be very nasty to unsolder the old chip and painstakingly solder a new one. Would'nt it be easier to use the Dreambox 500c as this has a faster processor and network card.
ok what about putting normal channels to hd
i got a ps2 with a disc that outputs normal games to hd
all it is is software to tell the ps2 to output at a higher resolution you think that could work on a dbox ?
looks good do you think these boxes will be in de-bug mode and ready for the uk cable network?
"IF YOUR GOING THROUGH HELL.......... KEEP GOING!"
YOU CANNOT WATCH HD TROUGH A DBOX !
YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO RECORD HD TO A HDD BUT THE DBOX CANNOT PLAY IT
YOU CANNOT FIT A 100Mbit Network CHIP INTO THE DBOX
THE DBOX DOES NOT PROVIDE HDMI OUTPUT
NO YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE RESULUTION ON THE DBOX TO SUIT HD
THE DBOX PROCESSOR HAS ONLY 66Mhz
just wondering guys
if i have a digital capture card for freeview
if plug this into the ntl feed will it pick up stuff
also can i run a cam against this to decode channels
thanks
U will be able to pick only analog channels through an N*l feed. Works in my area
You need a DVB-C card to pick up the cable channels - a freeview card is DVB-T, won-t be able to get the channels from cable. If you have a DVB-C card you can run a CAM or a CAM emulator then you will be able to get encrypted channels
Does anyone know what channel number the HD channel(s) are on for V**gin?
