Anybody use one of these ? I have been thinking about getting one but as usual looking on flea bay there are so many . Am looking for something I can hard wire and leave so not to big ,I am not to bothered about the screen I can watch playback on my lappy . Then I came across some apps for my mobile not sure if these are a better option one site did say it doesn't do the phone any good continually recording every time you go out ??? so may be a stand alone one would be better ? thanks for looking

trouble with using a phone is it often gets interrupted by apps and calls.

and ofcourse doesn't have the auto spooling
whereby if you do have a prang it auto saved xx mins eitherside to prevent over write.

I've found it better to use one of the cheap 15 imitation go pros
with a 256GB SD that does over 200hours.
and their app can be configured to show live video too to a tablet or whatever far cheaper
    its nice here....

Just a quick update for any one interested I settled on one of these

No screen so its nice and small got wifi , I can remove the cam but the base stays in the car and the power supply connects to the base so no worry abut probs with plugging/unplugging the connection on the unit its self . Most importantly it has good video ,one down side is that it has a battery I would have sooner it had a capacitor but the battery is only there for time/date ect and from what I can gather if the battery fails it will still record unlike some others the nextbase is one I think , the ddpai will not record the last clip when the engine is switched off if the battery fails but as I have said will still record when the engine is running , . There is a prob with reflections form the dashboard from what I can see off the internet not had chance to test it yet but you can get a lenses filter so we will see how we go . I hope this helps if you are thinking of buying a dash cam
