Help needed streaming large 4k video files

Hi, does anyone know how I can stream a large 4k video file from my pc to my tv, I can stream large files up to 25gb ish (right click file - cast to device), but I have a 4k 50gb file on my external hard drive which wont stream, I get an error on my tv saying "unstable connection" I have tried plugging hard drive in to tv but it just pauses and stutters (the tv does recognise the file so not a codec issue).

I have a wired connection so not a wifi issue.

    Thanks in advance........ Hidden Content

    run chkdsk on the drive
    and defrag it too.

if the file is fragmented then the required transfer speed cannot be obtained and it fails.
like wise if the drive is not capable of the required transfer speed it will fail.

check if its the file itselfby popping a small portion on to a penstick and using that.
    its nice here....
