Inaccessible external hard drive
I was transferring a load of videos, mainly treasured family moments, from my windows 10 laptop to an external hard drive when windows crashed.
When I restarted windows would not load the hard drive - it appears as a letter in explorer but will not access.
I left it running and eventually got a message ''F:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect.''
Is there any way to recover the files from the hard drive and/or get in running properly please.
Any advice woulkd be greatly appreciated otherwise I will have lost hours of family videos

pers id use easeus first to take an image of the drive
then start by running chkdsk /v /f /r. on it
if that doesn't cure it
then use some recover software.

Thanks for the info - can you get free versions of easeus or paid versions only?

Did you get this working again?
Another place to look in Windows is Disk Management. Look and see what partion and file system are assigned to the drive letter of your external drive.
This info can help further diagnosis and fixes.
