    AliExpress

I've only used AliExpress twice, the first purchase amounted to ?10.11 and came out ofmy bank with no extra charges.

The 2nd item amounted to ?15.55 and when I checked my bank it had incurred fees, I'm not sure how I paid the first time but the 2nd time I logged in the option to pay with alipay came up so I clicked that and job done.

Is there a way to pay for things so that I dont incurr extra fees as it kinds of defeats the purpose

Attached screenies show what I'm talking about.

Just followed the instructions on here Hidden Content and it comes up saying i have no card linked to alipay, so i don't know why they are offering me the option to use it ..... strange.

I'll have a look at your links above as well.

Edit - I had already tried the first link and the 2nd link is the one I linked to as well, I'll just need to make sure I don't press the alipay button next time I order anything, I've since made another order and I had to click on a dropdown arrow and press other then I was able to put in my debit card details.

Did you read this bit especially that last reply

It's just that when I go to order something from aliexpress and in payment options my card is already selected, with its information there.. I never even set up an alipay account I DONT THINK

[–]dekue 1 point 9 months ago
Yep, that is alipay... It asked to put a pin after a purchase, right?

    [–]cryinbc[S] 0 points 9 months ago
    Yes it did.

[–]dekue 1 point 9 months ago
Log in to your alipay account using your Aliexpress email and the pincode as the password... Complete the registration, then delete your card from the manage credit cards tab...

Yea I read the whole thread and didn't even skim read it Hidden Content . I logged into aliexpress underneath the login there's a drop down for 'my alipay' clicked that then you have to click open alipay wallet, when I click that it wants me to register and get a verification email sent, so I don't think I've ever signed up for it ?

Ignore the above, I must have signed up for it cos somewhere else let me log into it, done what was suggested above and went to settings >manage cards> and there's no cards linked to it.

I paid with debit card, when you pay for something do you get the option to pay with alipay ?
I ended up buying something else today so I could see if there was an option to just pay with debit card, the option is there but you need to click the arrow above the alipay button and choose 'other' then the option comes up for debit card, is that how you do it ?

No I hadn't changed my default view option to sterling and GBP although I do recall doing that the first time I used aliexpress so that'll explain why my first purchase went through with nothing extra added on. I'm going to get stung 2 more times as I've made 2 purchases today, but hopefully that'll be the last time so thanks for that.

I have tried replicating where you are with your screenie but couldn't so I wouldn't know if I had a tick in there or not
below is what happens when I press the buy it now button

Ah right, I done the next step and see where you mean now, and no I probably didn't untick that.

I think I'm getting myself confused now tho cos now I cant see the pay with alipay button that I saw earlier, but thats a good thing at least if I cant see it now I won't press it but it transpires that wasn't the reason for the extra charges anyhow, (that's right isn't it?)

Yes that's right it was because you bought in a currency other than sterling and your bank charged to convert and pay it
