World's first 3D-printed supercar
Hidden Content
Soon you won't have to be a mechanic to make your own car. This racer was made using a 3D printer, and can go from 0-60mph in just two seconds.
It's called The Blade, and is made by San Francisco firm Divergent Microfactories. The chassis parts were 3D printed, and are held together by carbon rods. Not only does this mean it's simple to assemble without an expensive factory, it also makes it much lighter than conventional cars – it weighs just 1,400lbs, which is 635kg.
Add a 700bhp engine, and you've got yourself the world's fastest build-it-yourself kit car.
As well as meaning you'll never be ripped off by a mechanic again, the car is also extremely environmentally friendly, as there are no factories involved in its production, meaning less pollution.
Divergent Microfactories will sell a limited number of these vehicles. The aim is to encourage others to set up their own microfactories to keep the production as environmentally friendly as possible. We salute that.

It's amazing where technology is going,I heard a while ago that 3d printing is a very slow process, and Replacement parts could be a problem.this could be the future.
