Xbox One will play Xbox 360 games
No need to hang onto that ageing old console anymore – the Xbox One will soon play Xbox 360 games, Microsoft has announced. The games will run natively on the console, and you won't have to pay for the games again if you already own them.
The feature will launch this Christmas. Around 100 games will be available at first, with "hundreds" more coming soon after.
Here's how it works. If you bought the Xbox 360 game online, the version for Xbox One will download as soon as it's available. Then you just start playing. If you bought the physical copy of the game, put the disc into the machine and it'll download to the console so you can get gaming.
You'll also be able to take advantage of new features like the Game DVR, screenshots and game streaming. Bonus!
You can see more info on the Hidden Content and Hidden Content to see a full list of compatible titles. They include Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark and Mass Effect, with more coming soon. Developers don't have to do any extra work, just approve their games, so expect a glut of titles coming our way.
The list so far:
A Kingdom for Keflings
A World of Keflings
Alien Hominid HD
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
BattleBlock Theater
Defense Grid
Geometry Wars Evolved
Hexic HD
Jetpac Refuelled
Kameo
Mass Effect
N+
Perfect Dark

EDIT: you can only get play the above games if you already own them and are in the preview program!
