The Xbox 360 had voice messaging since launch, but the feature has been strangely absent from the Xbox One. Until now. Microsoft's console will finally get the feature in an update next month.
It will let you record voice messages within the snapped messages app and send them to friends, even those using the Xbox 360.
Xbox's Major Nelson outlined the feature in a Hidden Content . Microsoft will have dedicated servers for party chat, which should mean fewer connection glitches.
The update also brings the What's On feature to us Brits. This highlights popular videos, films, TV shows and game broadcasts, and serves them up in case they're of interest. It's only a preview of the feature, so it might be a bit lacking.
If you're part of the update preview programme, you should have access to these features now. The update will roll out to general users in the coming weeks.
