On the 360 you could plug in a usb drive and save all the data to that. I'd guess its the same for the xbox one

its all key'd to your xbox live gamer tag m8. you should not need to do anything. when you get your new box, you just log in with your gamer tag and it should then redownload what you need?

if you have an external drive i suppose you could copy everything across but i'm not 100% sure the new xbox would like the old xbox content.

When you purchased your xbox your contract regarding your warranty for 12 months was with Tesco, if it's time lapsed then the information you've been given is correct.

i think the warranty is with the manufacturer. IF i had a problem with the console or other part, MS would be my first port of call.

Now, the issue he is having is a known one and being worked on. Not a great help as its not solved.......under uk law is he entitled to a refund or replacement by tesco?

If it's under 12 months old then I would have thought it should be Tesco that should be replacing or refunding.
