    Their website looks genuine
    Hidden Content

and they state "Complies with BS1363 Standards"

but also "Avoid any cheap versions being sold online they are not certificated and do not comply with BS1363 Standards"
Not sure if I'd buy them off ebay TBH even tho the user is terraluxltd that doesn't confirm anything

The front says 5v 1amp but the back is sealed in the photo's, I would want to make sure they are fused at 1a but there is no data sheet available on their site I can see

Thanks Digdug, might email them and see if they can provide a datasheet for it.

i emailed the site that digdug mentioned and asked for a datasheet. That might have shed more light on them. Not had a reply as yet!

It shouldn't matter if it is fused @ 1a or is SELV (Seperated Extra Low Voltage)

My only concern would be if the transformer was to fail or blow up inside your wall but if it meets BS standards it should be ok

A datasheet would confirm all of the worries anyway

Do you think the unit consume power stepping down to 5v even if there were now USB devices attached i.e. a slight continuous waste of electricity...?
As they always bang on about if your are not using it turn it off at the wall...!

    Their website state this...
Internal protection after device is fully charged
The USB socket is CE compliant & the power adapter complies with EU efficiency level 5
And EU efficiency level 5 off a different site...

Less than 0.3w but it might not use anything if there is no device attached as there is no load such as a standby light

Thanks digdug, I saw the "Internal protection after device is fully charged" and thought it was another kind of protection to the device...
That makes the item more interesting, cheers...
