?The Last of Us?: Remastered for PS4 accidentally confirmed by Sony

The unintentional confirmation comes in a similar way to that of the game?s single-player Left Behind DLC.

A listing for The Last of Us: Remastered on the PlayStation Store confirms that the critically acclaimed PS3 exclusive will be coming to the eighth-generation Sony console.

A Sony rep confirmed last month that a PS4 version of The Last of Us was on its way, scheduled for a summer release, and that it would include the Left Behind DLC. The PlayStation Store banner lists the price as $59.99, and also talks about a Day 1 Digital release, which means there should be a physical edition as well on launch day. It?s unclear what improvements the Remastered edition will bring over the original, though they?ll likely be limited to higher-quality graphics taking advantage of the more powerful hardware.

A concrete release date is still a mystery, though given the listing also includes a pre-order button, it wouldn?t be surprising if it?s available for purchase before the month is over. The PS3 version was critically acclaimed for its impressive melding of a solid plot, characters and survival gameplay, and a separate version for the PS4 would give Sony a nice little exclusive to boast about in the ongoing console wars with Microsoft, at least until the next Uncharted comes out.

Update: Sony has confirmed that The Last of Us: Remastered is real and will be arriving on the PS4 this summer. The title will include higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lightning, and upgrade textures when it comes to graphics, while also featuring director?s commentary for all in-game cinematics from the game?s Creative Director and Writer, Neil Druckmann, and voice actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who play Joel and Ellie, the game?s two protagonists. Also included is a new multiplayer map pack, and a few other goodies, details for which can be found on the PlayStation blog.

It kind of feels like there the PS4 was rushed a bit, with most of the best, or more desirable games coming out several months after release, and there not being any sony branded games on release, rather Second Son, Last of us, Uncharted etc. are all to be released after..
