Fridge
I have a fridge here thats worked fine for years. Upgraded and moved the fridge to be used as beer and wine cooler.
Now its stopped working. Lights on, but nothing else.
Before i bin it, is it repairable?
Any Ideas what it could be? The compressor?
Thanks.

Re: Fridge
fridges when transported need to be left sitting for a number of hours before plugging in.

Re: Fridge
Thanks for the reply, the fridge was sitting for a while and was working fine. For a few days there was nothing inside it when it was on, so i thought maybe that had caused the fridge to work harder? Then it broke?

Re: Fridge
Does it make any noise when you plug it in. It will either be a compressor failure or a coolant leak when it was moved. Might be cheaper to get a proper beer fridge than to try to get it repaired, especially if it is older and the running costs will be high. Just worth checking that there are no loose cables on the back if you can though Hidden Content

Re: Fridge
see if the temp control has an 'off' position when turned down to '0'
should be a stiff click.
then bring it back up to a temp
does it come on?
if not check the plastic tube at the back of the inside of the bottom of the fridge that runs out the back
poke a long wire down it make sure there is no bubble in it or fluid
next go around the back and look for where the tube ends
is it in water, poss in a container, if it is take it out and clear it
then emply the container.
if its in built, look for a sensor in the bottom
make sure thats free of water.
turn the fridge off at the main
turn it on again.
if none of that works its the stat inside gone south
unless you know when you move it you bent the copper 'capped' pipe that comes off the compressor bowl
thus the gas has gone...
you 'can' recharge them if you are clever
kits are on ebay
all you need is a blow torch to reseal the solder join and compressor to bring the vacuum back down
prob more exp then a beer fridge will be
