    The Hobbit 48fps

So I went to see the high frame rate The Hobbit 3D last night. Have to say I have mixed feelings about 48fps. On one hand location shots and action sequences look absolutely amazing, but on the other some of the special effects looked a bit ropey and it gave some scenes a 'hyper real' made for TV look.

If this new frame rate is going to catch on I think I'd prefer to see film makers using a combination of 24 frames and 48 frames.

    Anyone else got any thoughts?

Totally agree. It did improve the 3d a fair bit but sometimes the movie looked shockingly bad. Great movie overall though and next time i watch i will watch in 2D only.

3D is dead and they are flogging a dead horse and the 48 fps is a attempt to get you to spend more money at the cinema exactly the same as 3D was. Its a gimmick and will die the same way as 3D is going. And hw do i know that 3D is dead?? Well seeing as though the TV manufacturers have now canned it and are not making anymore it will just die like it did before.

8K UHDTV will be better than 3D and probably kill it as the resolution is 7680 ? 4320 (33.2 megapixels),they say it is so sharp that watching it on a big screen is like being there yourself.

Not sure how they are going to stream 33.2 megapixels though, going definetley need some high end bandwidth and an unlimited internet bundle Hidden Content
