    Unhappy Signal dropping out

Hi if anyone can advise me what might be making my virgin superhub signal keep dropping out.
It was an Ebay purchase and when I contacted Virgin to get it turned on they took a long time to configure it and they connected their machine to the computer
which I didn't like the idea of and took control of it from India.
And they had a mess with the antivirus firewall but I dont know what they did.
Being paranoid I turned the computer back in time to before all this happened and it still worked so was this bloke yanking my chain.
    Hope someone can advise.
    Thanks John.

    Re: Signal dropping out

Is this a normal ADSL device that connects through the phone line?

If it is the most obvious problems could be:
-Bad splitter on the phone socket
-Your internet settings are too high for stability. Depending on the quality of your connection you can get a faster connection, if they have the settings too high then you can lose connection during peak times when more people are using the network. (you can call them to slow down your connection if that is the case, though some routers automatically find a stable setting over time when left connected)
-bad connection/wire from the BT cabinet to your home

    Re: Signal dropping out

Normally it is a connection somewhere like as was said above a dodgy splitter ect. My mate has a problem with his worked fine for years and then it packed up with the signal going then it would work again, changed a splitter round with another one and it worked fine for a while again then went again. We re did the wire again and it has been fine ever since so i would check all the wiring ect and connections for a fault if i was you.
