    Re: NTL Router

I too use D-Link, but I have installed a multitude of brands for other people, all have worked.... Just remember what you changed the Admin username and password to so as to avoid a factory reset and loss of all settings.... Hidden Content

    Re: NTL Router

Uh uh, i wouldn't go for linksys, not the new range (silver and black) anyway... Look at draytek (2900 range), difficult to get hold of and expensive but absolutely brilliant...

You usually can't go wrong with good old cheap, reliable d-link as the gentlemen pointed out..

If you have the money flying out your pocket, look at the Cisco 800 series (integrated services routers)...

I would recommend that you use an Edimax BR-6304Wg costs around 40 quid and has 4 lan ports on it its easy to configure and requires no maintence really

    Re: NTL Router

I’ve got a Netgear and never had any problems, got my PC and 2 XBOX’s all online and talking to each other, best feature is the router stores my internet settings so when I re-install windows I don’t need to re-configure the broadband…its like magic!

Gotta agree with Netgear. Now owned by Cisco so even more reliable and even better tech support! win win!

    Re: NTL Router

Im using a linksys router at the moment but have set up countless connections using other branded and non-branded routers and all have worked well, just follow the quick setup guide normally supplied but before you buy your router you might want to consider whether or not you're gonna want to go wireless in the future (save money in the long run by buying a wireless router so the option is already there for you)

    Re: NTL Router

I use Netgear too, much better than the US Robotics I had before, that was always dropping the wireless connection.

I would buy a cheap N*L 120 from a well known auction site and then connect a router to that. Or a better Cable modem if you want to "play" with it.

Netgear or Linksys. Used both on NTL myself in the past and both great products.
