People rescued from rollercoaster after eight hours
Nine people had to be rescued when a rollercoaster stopped 60 feet (18.3 metres) above the ground due to a mechanical failure.
The passengers were stranded in the air for eight hours until they were helped down from the Tsunami ride at Strathclyde Country Park, according to The Mirror.
A police spokesperson said: "At around 4.30pm, one of the rollercoaster rides at M&D's theme park suffered what appeared to be a mechanical failure.
"Nine people of various ages were on the ride. Strathclyde Police and other emergency services were sent to the scene."
The passengers, between 9 and 49 years old, were winched off individually.
"Everybody is now safe and well," the spokesperson continued. "No-one needed to be taken to hospital."

Eight hours! Hidden Content
Do Strathclyde firemen have to knit their own ladders then? Hidden Content
It was "only" 60 feet, which though high is hardly mount Everest.
I wouldn't like to be in a fire on the 20th floor of a block of flats there!
To leave so many people stuck up there for so long sounds like incompetence to me?
