    Windows XP media centre activation

    Hey there
I've had a Windows XP media centre edition that I managed to get hold of for about a year now. at the time I activated windows using one of the usual sources. Yesterday I downloaded an automatic update and installed it without looking to see what it was. Now when I turn the computer on it says that windows needs to be activated before I can log on. If I go through the activation process it says that the key I have entered is invalid as it has been used too many times. I have tried starting windows in safe mode with the same result. Any idea of how I can get around this or what I can even do to get into windows where I can use some stuff off the net to stop it happening again?

    Cheers

    Lambie
