[INFO] Something new to Play with XBMC

    Hi,

not 100% Dbox but as I love to play with stuff ;-)

the Hidden Content is getting further with XBMC on the Windows PC front.

Download the latest T3ch built of XBMC from here: Hidden Content

    Then Unrar the downloaded file
Browse to the win32 colder and copy the content into the xbmc folder
Once in the XBMC Folder you can edit the run_me_first.bat and add behind the line with XBMC.exe a simple -fs to enable the Full Screen Mode.

It is not 100% working yet but it should play movies etc.

For everyone that is not so familiar what XBMC is, it is a open source Project that originally was developed to run on the 1st Version of the Microsoft Xbox. It is a full media center and this has now been ported to the Windows PC, the Mac (leopard) and also for Linux.

Give it a try as it also includes a Upnp Server and Client and can host Music & Movies to an Xbox 360.

You can even turn on a detailed Log within this menu. The log file get's written into the xbmc folder.

The C drive on your PC shows up as C Drive once you add it as a source. Documents and settings and then the username get's you to my documents ;-)

Screenshots work with the PRTSCR Button after choosing a Directory to store the BMP's

It can even be used as a Upnp Server for the Dbox

Re: [INFO] Something new to Play with XBMC

    Hi guys,

if your are not a linux or Mac Buff you can still run the XBMC on your PC.

Historically the T3ch releases always included a win 32 Version of XBMC but this was more for skinners to play around and did not have 100% functionality.

    Original info is Hidden Content

Download the latest T3ch Release from Hidden Content

Download the SDL.NET package from Hidden Content

    Get the sdldotnet-6.0.0-runtime-setup.exe

Download the OpenGL Extension Wrangler Library from Hidden Content

Unzip the glew-1.5.0-win32.zip file and copy the glew32.dll from the glew\bin directory to your newly extracted E:\T3CH\XBMC directory

Download the latest Wiso 12185 SDL/OpenGL Release from Hidden Content

Put the Direcorys and files into the unzipped T3ch download into the XBMC Directory and just start the xbmc_pc.exe.

All this is early Beta Releases but you can try and play around ;-)

    Hello,

instead of the Wiso 122185 please download Hidden Content as AC3 Audio should now work on PC's with AC3/Dolby Digital Audio Cards.

Please report Hidden Content any issues you encounter.

    New Update ;-)

Wiso has released the Version 12563 . You can download it Hidden Content

Also don't forget to download the latest T3ch Release from above Link ( 06.04.2008 )

To change the screen Resolution to match your PC Screen please do the following (1024x768 is only an example from my Laptop!):

    Hidden Content Hidden Content

    Hidden Content Hidden Content

    Hidden Content

After this just turn the XBMC off and Start again via the xbmc_pc.exe. A simple reset within XBMC does not load these changes at present

New is now also the the Userdata files that are for example the Favorites.xml or the Sources.xml are now stored here c:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\xbmc .

Please delete above Folder if you had used previous Versions !!

The Favorites.xml gives you quick access to any scripts you have on the Xbox

For the Dbox and Neutrino or Enigma

Thanks to Funcky from the Evo-X.de Forum he ported Callys original script so they work with newer XBMC Versions.

Important when you uprade to a later Version for example from Hidden Content

You will find 2 files in the un-rared directory called _tools

SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.cfg and SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe

You need to rename these to evoxdash.cfg and evoxdash.xbe and then within the CFG file point it to the partition were you have uploaded XBMC too.

Normally this is e:\apps\xbmc or f:\apps\xbmc

Again here is what you do:

Put the Direcorys and files into the unzipped T3ch download into the XBMC Directory (Delete all old content if you had it already installed but keep the \Userdata Folder) and just start the xbmc_pc.exe.

There are also some Visualization files Hidden Content but I have not jet checked out what they are.

You can even include the Xbox BBC iPlayer:

    Unzip it on your PC

    Then FTP to you Xbox
Check In the E Drive under e:\apps\xbmc\scripts

Re: [INFO] Something new to Play with XBMC

    Hi all,

Johnsto has from the beginning been very eager to get the iPlayer working with XBMC.

Due the fact that the BBC kept changing the way they stream the shows to the end User Johnsto had to keep changing his "script" to suit the new requierements.

At the beginning he downloaded the show rather than streaming but lately the BBC blocked this so the only way to go forward was RTMP.

This is a streaming protocoll that had been implemented into the XBMC Code but only for the new Versions for Windows, MAC and Linux.

The "old" Xbox did not support it fully to be used by the iPlayer.

Thanks to a User called Frosty the "old" Xbox now supports RTMP: Hidden Content

The best releases you can normally get are from T3ch but a later bugfix for RTMP has not yet been included in the standard SVN so no T3ch built at present supports the iPlayer.

Help came in the form of DigiNews as he posted this site: Hidden Content ! <- The ! is part of the URL !!!

Download the so called "Bless" release of XBMC including the latest Patch from here: Hidden Content

You find the latest Version of the iPlayer for all Platforms here: Hidden Content

    HOW TO INSTALL:

Normally on a Softmodded or chipped Xbox you have in the C: Directory 2 files.

In my case they are called evoxdash.xbe and evoxdash.cfg

The XBMC is normally installed within e:\apps\xbmc

Download above iPlayer and the Bless release and unpack them both on your PC.

    FTP to your Xbox

Create a new directory called: e:\apps\newxbmc and copy the bless release of the XBMC into that directory.

Delete the iPlayer directory within e:\apps\newxbmc\plugins\video and copy the new iPlayer into that directory

Download the evoxdash.cfg on to your pc and open it with notepad anc change the line e:\apps\xbmc into e:\apps\newxbmc

Transfer the File back on your c:\ drive and overwrite the existing one

HINT: Using Filezilla as your FTP Client will let you edit the file without copying first. Just right click on it whilst you browse the C Drive of your Xbox and edit the file and then save it. After this Filezilla ask's if you want to upload the updated file.

All Files mentioned on your Xbox might be called differently depending on your BIOS or Softmod.

Original iPlayer discussion is here: Hidden Content

IMPORTANT: The iPlayer is no longer a script ! This is now a Plugin !

    EXTRA:

As explained above you can run XBMC now on Linux, Mac, MacTV and Windows.

The latest one is called LIVE and it is a boot CD that runs on any PC without installing XBMC. Just boot your machine with that CD and have XBMC running ;-)

    LIVE Version here: Hidden Content

Above can even installed on a USB stick but I have not yet done so.

They are also working on a BOOT via LAN Version.
