Just got BT and getting cr*p speeds (1.5mb when I was told I would get 5.5mb) and the people that answer the phones for them dont have a clue about broadband but they said the speed will pick up after 10 days so I will wait and see, was with NTL before and it was far faster but their phone support was rubbish to.
im with pipex but only because i cant get cable broadband
plus side with them is i never get dropped connections
minus side is their crap newservers and capped speed from about 6pm until midnight

im with virgin media but only recently gone over to them very impressed with there service , customer service desk etc good quick answer on phone. speed very good but i am on 20 meg and was previously on 1 meg with talktalk. so no comparason really..
I use TalkTalk free broadband, not having much good with the speed, which is less than 1Mb. I have to try with router what speed might get coz using I'm using Talktalk modem and is bit far away from the socket.
hi kirsty,
using VM no real probs only what peeps already know.......
thx
I'm on Virgin Media, always been on cable for ages now, my only experiences of anything other than cable have been poor.
I'm on the 4meg, decent speeds for just one user.
VM are pretty good, had a recent quibble with a bill but I asked for a manger and he sorted it all out exactly how it should have been without any hassle.
i'm using talk talk broadband and after some early problems it has been fantastic for the past year. the broadband is advertised as up to 8 meg. i tend to get around 5.5meg which is ok.
im with virgin...been pretty gud so far!
bt total broadband the best package they got. no major probs - so far. i cant get sky etc
vm for me never tried anyone else was with telepest b4 ,never had a problem on 4 meg no problems

Trust me the devil allways wins ,no matter how hard we resist
Must say cannot complain about virgin cable, been using the 8mb for a long time now with no probs - just as well coz the drawback is the customer services suck.
Just gone with ABInternet's Advanced Broadband. It comes over a wireless link rather than down the phone line or cable - I have an antenna like a BSB Squarial.
I get 2 meg down and 2 meg upload - yes it's symetrical Hidden Content
i'm with Telewest/now virgin media for the past 5 years, Now that Branson is in control I think we will loose some service. They are very slow to open the tap was paying ?25 for 1/2meg 4 years ago only only getting 4meg should be 20 or high by now
Im with virgins Hidden Content
I think a big majority of the site is on virgin media, and if i lived in a cable area i would definetly be getting it from them. But unfortunitely im stuck with BT who arent giving us bad speeds Hidden Content
Been with Telepest since the beginning now Virgin never had any major problems apart from the Cable in the garden wasn't buried deep enough and I put a spade through it
virgin media you get what u pay for
I Use VM, everyone knows its speed problems recently, since ntlhell. ntlhell was good, great speeds. But seems to be improving slowly with VM. :-)
I'm using Redten, was sucked into the "sign up and get a free PC" deal, only trouble is that the PC is pretty bad compared to what you can buy nowadays for the ?500 value they advertise, and they tie you into a 3year deal - won't make that mistake again!
