    Re: HomeBrew section

Ive just made some for the 1st time and wont be in this place long enough to drink it and its now ready to be bottled, but I didnt buy any caps or a capper for it so just put some in a small empty coke bottle earlier because I want to try it to see if its any good. Will this be ok to drink in 2 weeks or will the plastic bottle explode??
    Cheers

bottles should be ok as long as they are fizzy pop bottles(juice ones are no good),what was it wine or beer cos if it was beer you should of put sugar in for the second fermentation process to take affect.

Yea I put sugar in when I put it in the carboi and I put a wee bit in today when I stuck it in the bottle to because I think (not 100%) it said in the instructions to add sugar when bottling. It is beer Hidden Content and im only gonna get 1 500ml bottle out of it Hidden Content

yes mate thats right the secondary fermentation will make the yeast thats left eat all the sugar and give it its fizz, leave it in a cool place to clear(1/2 weeks) then fridge for a day and will be ready for consumption mate Hidden Content

    Re: HomeBrew section

ive made beer ,stout, lager, ale, wine (from all kinds of things including rosehips)and its fun but can assure you it gets pretty scary when the bottles go Hidden Content cause of too much sugar in the secondry fermentation proccess

    Re: HomeBrew section

Used to brew my own a number of years ago, used the Grolsh Beer pop top bottles, good and strong. Used slices of lemon and lime in place of some of the sugar for fermentation. Made a nice head on the brew and the vat was like a volcano Hidden Content
