Re: All Video Recording discussions here

I've also got the same problem for Direct Recording on my dbox (Samba, NAS, Dons Specialist image, Nokia x2). I can manually record all day long, playback fine, but cannot schedule any recordings via the timer/scheduler....Strange.

Does anyone who had this issue, know what I can do to fix it ? (for the person who said specify group permissions, I can't do this on a NAS drive)

Any help in solving this, would be appreciated! Hidden Content

I came accross this on sporster 1.08, but for life what it was. Double check all your recording settings, make sure the mount is working correctly then check direct recording settings.

    Problem with recording

On most images I have a problem with SPTS and recording. I am using the wingrab program on my PC. I have a Sagem 2x and have tried various images with the same result.
If I have SPTS on when I start recording, the screen goes blank but the recording sofware seems OK. If I turn SPTS off I can still see the programme that I am watching as I should but UDREC.exe crashes on my PC. If I turn SPTS off when I'm just watching a programme the same thing happens - blank screen. Anyone advise?

Is that part of the same software or a different program altogether?

Re: All Video Recording discussions here

    @Sidneysides

I have the same problem as you, unless I turn spts on for recording (as you are) AND I make sure that in the settings, driver/boot options menu, I've also got 'use sprts mode' set to on.

Try that, with UCode 014 or Ucode01A selected. Also in the recording menu, stop playback can be off, and if using direct recording, make sure write syncronious (datasync) is set to on, and ther O_SYNC option turned off.

Try that, and see if it then works....

    Help !! Direct recording folder

I have a problem, i have searched but cannot find an answer that has managed to help me yet. I am trying to set the dbox up for direct recording. I am using Commando 7.5. When i try and set the recording directory, i then try to go to mnt, but it just keeps going back to the previous screen.

I have set a folder on my PC Hard drive which is shared, i can ping the dbox from the PC. Its just this last bit that i seem to be stuck with....

I managed to get direct recording working when i was using the Commando 6 image. But for some reason i am struggling now, has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know how i can fix it. Thanks very much.

I have read your help file and the sticky's, But i am still having a few propblems.....Maybe i am not a rocket scientist. Hidden Content

The only bit that i am having trouble with is when you try and set the directory that needs to be mounted, the problem is when i try and select mnt, it just goes back to the previous screen and displays the same as previous, no 'mnt' added. So i cannot manage to add the directory on my hard drive that i had added.

I will keep reading and see if i can find something that i am doing wrong.

Thanks for your great help file though, i have used it before which has helped me greatly.

It gives multi mount options if you go back in it will have mnt next to 0
but wont show in the direct recording settings on the previous page that is ok.
Try setting 0 to hdd even if you have not got one this wont show either on the previous page and try direct recording then.

Re: All Video Recording discussions here

Sorry for posting in the wrong place, i did read the feedback thread, but that was the problem, i must have done something different as my screen shots were different from the ones in that thread, as stated in the posts above. The problem is now sorted, and this was done by doing the update to the image.

    Thanks

hey, i am having a problem with winserver.. it says "unauthorised use of ggrab" and stops recording.
    any ideas?

    Hey!
I'm trying to figure out recording to my PC by using winserver...
all seems ok until i start the recording. It loads up and creates the folder in my selected file of whatever im trying to record, but about a minute later it tells me that ggrab has failed... or something along those lines, and recording stops. Its does the same thing using ggrab or the other one...
anyone help? Im a newbie at recording.
