The Recorded File is the "raw" Data as send by the Providers
It depends on the Bitrate they are using to broadcast and can even be larger.
Just record you film and then Download a Software called Auto Gordian Knot and you can choose the Filesize you want for it.

Hi,
The program works a treat just one question. When using direct recording you getserveral files
1.) a mpg file
2.) a mp2 file
3.) a mpv file
Now you can delete 2 and 3 and the mpg still works with audio and video so why do we need these files?

If you are using dbox winserver to record it records in 2 separate files in UDRec
and multplexe's them together when it has finished if you have the option ticked.
i dont think there is a option to auto delete the 2 individual files after
it has multiplexed them together.
could be wrong though.

Right so after the multiplexing you can delete the other files without any probs then?
I thought they may have been needed for somethin maybe burning them to DVD or somethin but I guess not.
Thanks for the info mate.

There sure is a way to delete the 2 leftover files after multiplexing.
See my screenshot below.
On the left screenshot, you need to click the [...] button, browse to the folder where you capture your recordings to.
It should put the path into the parameter1 box. at the end, add *.mp2. Select 'DEL' in the command box then click the 'ADD' button.
do the same again but this time add *.mpv to the end.
Then hop over to the Generally tab (Right screenshot) and tick the 'Start script after recording' option. Now hit save and you should all be set.
