[Beginners Tutorial] On How To Install Winrar
This is just a simple tutorial which helps you to install Winrar.
Most of the files on the internet are compressed to make them smaller and easier to download.
If the file you download is compressed you will need Winrar to unpack it to gain access to your files.

7-Zip is a much better app than WinRAR.
It's compct, free and open sourced - grab it from here Hidden Content

I agree with cats, 7-Zip is a much better app that WinRAR. It can handle much more formats and as cats said, it's free!

Re: [Beginners Tutorial] On How To Install Winrar
Can you tell me what is the difference between Winrar and WinZIP? I know both are used to compress files. But what is the difference in features. Are they both same company?

sometimes (not often) certain zipped/rar'd files have a problem extracting if not using the exact program either winzip or winrar, just install both, problem solved :)

I like 7-Zip, but I wish the author would come up with a facility to extract incomplete 7z files.

I've allways prefered 7-zip. it has never let me down
Re: [Beginners Tutorial] On How To Install Winrar
I've been using WinRar since I knew how to use a computer many, many years ago. I've tried 7-zip but the interface seemed so foreign to me after using WinRar for so long. Haven't encountered a problem yet so won't be changing any time soon.
