BskyB's appeal to prevent the disclosure of confidential documents in its legal battle with Virgin Media has been rejected.
Within minutes of hearing the case yesterday, three of the country's top judges threw out Sky's appeal and ordered the satellite broadcaster to pay Virgin £40,000 in costs.
Virgin has taken Sky to the High Court, claiming it abused its market dominance in cutting the prices it paid to carry the cable group's channels and raising its charges to Virgin for carrying Sky's own basic channels.
The case is due to be heard next year and lawyers are already gathering evidence.
Sky has handed over 8,800 documents, 7,900 of which are confidential, to Virgin's legal team. |
