This member is the original thread starter. BBC Radio goes interactive on Virgin Media

Just a few years ago radio was something limited to the airwaves, but with the recent explosion of Digital Radio Virgin Media is taking it to the next step. All BBC Radio stations on Virgin Media TV will now have red button interactivity.
Users who choose to press the red button will be offered information such as current track playing, genre-based news, music charts and a multitude of other digital information

Mark Friend, multiplatform and interactive controller for BBC Audio and Music, said: "This is a key part of the BBC's plan to enhance radio across new platforms and connects us with the huge audience listening to radio through their TV."

This is a small step in brining radio up to the standards which listeners demand, however it is yet unknown if any other radio stations will be going interactive
