Yahoo chat audio problem in vista ???
Me and my mate have just bought new pc's, both have windows vista on them.
Thing is, when we go into the yahoo chat rooms now, we get a "voice error" message saying "this computer does not support the required audio codec compression format".
I looked around the internet for a fix and seen that it appears to be something to do with a codec, and also some sites say that the codec is infact part of windows, so iam totally confused ?
Ohh, and theres some websites directing me to install certain .exe files which are as anyone who knows a bit about computers actually programs, and iam very very very wary about installing any .exe (program) unless i know for a fact its perfectly safe, these can easily be virus's etc etc as you'll know.
Anyway, can someone shed some light on this, or better still if youve had the same prob and know the fix, please let me know.
Thank you.
p.s
ive attached the yahoo chat error message picture.
