Windows Password

Hey guys, a little stuck

My mate bought a PC from a car booty(silly boy I know) and its password protected at the windows login.
Its a Pentium4 and starts up really quickly.
It shows up as "home edition" so must be service pack 1
I tried f8 on boot(to enter safe mode) but the only options were boot sequence

The password hint is "caput" so I tried guessing the password to no avail......i'm rubbish at crosswords too

Any ideas?
