internet explorer sp2

recently installed windows xp sp2. after installation internet explorer
loads very slow.
installed firefox and this runs very well. obvious solution is to
use firefox but would like to sort the issue with explorer.
tried the usual searches but couldn't find anything.

any help would be appreciated.
