I am long sighted and have dual focus glasses. Without, and sometimes even with my glasses things are blurry and out of focus, at all distances. This can be a real nuisance at the computer, or trying to read labels on food packets!

Why do they give cooking instructions on the smallest side of a packet, in tiny writing in some colour which doesn't stand out from the background? :mad:

Anyway, that aside I have my first appointment with Optimax to assess my suitability for treatment on Wednesday 8th of this month.
It is a very expensive treatment, but I can think of nothing else that could improve my life more, which I can actually do something about!
By the way, don't believe the tv adverts saying "treatment from £395", its really a lie, proper Treatment actually starts from about £995!
The in depth eye test is free, but needs a £10 deposit, refundable if you turn up!

Well I wondered if anyone here had already had this kind of treatment?
There are several different types, Lasek, Lasik, Wavefront, to name just three. The prices vary hugely and before I fully commit, I would be interested in peoples opinions of the treatment, the companies (Optimax, Ultralase), amount of pain or discomfort, recovery times and degree of success for them?
I would like to know if they thought the treatments they received were worth it, bearing in mind it IS expensive, but would you advise other people to "go for it", or would you yourself have it done again?

It's alright them sending you testimonials, but obviously they are going to be from their most successful clients operations and you cannot believe all you read!
Has anyone had laser treatment which has not been successful, and has either produced little to no benefit to them, or actually made their eyes worse?
I would be grateful for all your opinions on this because I have it in mind to go ahead with treatment, even though it is an expensive commitment for me in my financial circumstances.

Ive hunted around the net and come up with nothing. I couldnt even find any on Ebay!! I have got 2 Dipper plates that have never been stamped and i was trying to get a value on them. They are both in eimmaculate condition. I did find one on ebay a few months ago but that one was shot to death lol it had been in a fire by the looks of things as all the brass had gone and the black had gone too off them and the corners were very damaged and that went for nearly £100 !! Its just a curiocity thing at the mo as i just want to find out how much they are worth thats all.

Any help would be greatfully received
