This would have to be usb 2.0, or i think even usb 3.0 is out now, not sure on that though ?

I know there are hundreds of these things for sale when looking on google, I ask in here hoping that maybe someone has had some personal experience of a good one or can tell me what to avoid in the bad ones as i have never bought one before.

I want an electricly powered one as I have heard they are more reliable and better than ones that are reliant solely from power from the usb port on the computer, is that part true ?

I also want one that would allow me to plug it into the mains and then sit the usb hub up on the desk behind like the monitor out of the way, but not so far out of the way that its akward to get to (i.e- on the floor behind the pc,lol), it means if the actual hub is within easy reach it is so much easier to plug and unplug things into it if you know what i mean ?

the number of ports the hub has isnt really important although the more the merrier i guess, my main concern is it is good quality and it works perfectly, cost isnt that important as most of these things are not really that expensive anyways i think.

so, i'm hoping someone has any info for me, would be greatly appreciated as always.

thanks again chaps :)
