I've been given a mate's pc, he tells me that his kid switched off the power wihle he was using it and now it won't boot. It gets to the Winxp logo with the scrolling blue bars and then simply restarts. I've tried all the safe-mode options and none of them will start either. I have a genuine XP home edition disc and I've booted from the CD and ran the fixboot command and still no change. Any ideas ? He's got all his business files on the pc and of course no backup so I have to get into this thing.

TIA
