Hiya all,
I have recently joined after a friend was having problems with a DBox they'd just bought. They didn't get much help from from the German Seller so asked me to help out.
I'm not much of a tech head but enjoy playing around with stuff and after a quick search I found this website. I must admit that it's a bit daunting for a newbie and seems to be easy to fall foul of the rules. Not only am I trying to get to grips with setting up a DBox which I was totally unfamiliar with but I'm was also having to contend with the forum protocols. Whilst I'm trying my best to take in all the forum's rules it is very difficult when you are at the same time trying to learn about the DBox system, how to connect it to your computer and change the various files and settings.
I have already had a minor slap on the wrist when late in the evening I added a comment to a thread which gave a similar problem that I had together with an answer. I just expanded on the problem and asked what I felt was a legitimate question but the thread was quickly closed and the moderator posted the message "do some reading come on its all in here".
So my sincere apologises if I sometimes get it wrong. Please bear in mind that I had on that day been working on the DBox since the morning and had already read pages upon pages of stuff and in my eagerness to resolve the one final problem which I had not been able find a answer for decided to post the question on a thread which had a similar problem.
Apart from this one minor downfall of mine I have found the advice and information given here extremely useful and the "DBox 2 Master FAQ" a great help and easy guide to follow.
So for any other newbies, please do follow the forum rules and read as much stuff as you can, using the search facility as much as possible, as it is probable that you question has already been answered elsewhere and it can be just as frustrating for the other forum users and the moderators for the same questions to be repeatedly asked.
There is so much free advice and information here for you if you just take the time to read through it. As I've said I knew very little about the DBox before I joined but have been able to learn so much from what is already available.
