A body has been found in a burnt-out car in a lane between Cardiff and Newport.
The discovery was made at about 1515 BST at Began Road in Michaelston-y-Fedw, near Newport.
Gwent Police have launched an investigation and are treating it as "suspicious". Scenes of crime officers are there.
Two fire crews from Cardiff attended, but the blaze was almost out by the time they arrived.
The car, a Renault Clio, was found on a slipway on the River Rhymney. The front end of the vehicle was in the water.
The vehicle has since been towed away for forensic tests. Began Road was closed for three hours during the recovery operation |
