This member is the original thread starter. Exclamation When selling, beware of the following

just thought id warn you of this since it nearly happened to me.

if you have buy-it-now item (especially mobile phones), a wanker will create a new ebay account on the same day and win your item. they will not pay.

in my case, they requested me to send package to nigeria (which already rang alarm bells in my head). about 24 hours was wasted having to report the user, get him banned, claim back fees, and relist the item.

he also had false contact details. he had done this to about 5 people only yesterday.

TO PREVENT SCAM HAPPENING TO YOU:

1. make sure buy-it-now listings have 'require immediate payment' ticked. you have to do this individually for each listing and i forgot just this once

2. in ebay preferences, make sure following options are checked:

Block buyers who:

Are registered in countries to which I don't post
Have a feedback score of -1 or lower
Have received 2 Unpaid Item strikes in the last 30 days
Don't have a PayPal account
Have a feedback score of 5 or lower and no credit card on file

just for information, my item was a samsung e900 mobile phone. if you are interested, ive posted it in the sell/trade section of this forum. good luck dont let it happen to you!
