Ridsdale denies Purse rumours

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has rubbished media speculation that the Bluebirds are poised to sell captain Darren Purse to Wigan.
The Premiership outfit are reported to be chasing former Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion central defender Purse to replace the released Arjan de Zeeuw.

"Don't believe anything you read - the silly season has started where every player is being linked with almost every club," said former Leeds and Barnsley chairman Ridsdale.

Purse, who still has a year left on his current Cardiff contract, has also been linked with relegated clubs Charlton and Sheffield United.
