This member is the original thread starter. adding switch

have a belkin wireless router with 4 hard wired ports at the back, and seems now not enough,

i have one of them flowing into the front room to the 360 but want to add some more their,

i have just got a belkin 8 port switch, can I just unplug from the 360, put it into one of the ports on the switch , then run a new wire from switch back to the 360 and then to new equipment?
Do I need to power down all my equipment first before installing so that everything recognises?

trying for this tonite so prompt replies would be greatly appreciated.

buck
