This member is the original thread starter. does vista save a restore point on startup ?

Iam wondering if vista saves a restore point for system restore when you start up your pc ??

Its just that every day when i turn on my pc, despite there being nothing running in the background, my hard drive makes its normal clicking/brrrring noises and its little light flash's like as if the computer is activley doing something, but i havent told it to do anything.....

Only thing thats running, well in msconfig/startup items, is my antivirus program, and iam 90% positive that its set "not" to scan on boot, although iam not quite 100% sure on that, its nod32 antivirus i use, ohh and its windows vista i have too.

Does anyone else get this with vista, or know how to stop it, I cant seem to remember this happening with xp, it does it for a good few minutes too before it settles down, bit of a pain really, anyone know the fix etc ?
