This member is the original thread starter. push fit or solder?

Are pushfit fittings any good in the long term?

I trust a solid solder joint over a small rubber seal any day.
Rubber can perish. I wonder what will happen in 15 to 20 years time when
the seals start to break down.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?
