Sharp LC-26SD1E

My son has one of these, dont know if you advise on fixes or fault reasons in here or not, but from standby (red light)when I press the power button on the remote it powers up for about 1 second (green light on power and OCP), then goes back to standby, the sharp website would only be useful beside a toilet, provided no support at all, but hey, if I wanna buy a new telly....yeah right

Any thoughts/advice on the above, people, he's doing my head in watching all that thump thump thump music on MTV all the blummin time on my telly....thanks.
